 Someday, I want to go to grad school so I can study stuff that is freaking common sense, and then get paid for it.

Interesting... you're right it sounds like common sense, but I think people do this kind of research in an attempt to prove as fact something they already believe, anecdotally, to be true. And I think they didn't evaluate occupation as one of the characteristics because it can't be quantified as easily as education, income, and number of sex partners. Hmm, how would you quantify it? I guess they'd have to do a whole nother perception study...

yeah, very true. no question how those results would come back; and there's plenty of more useful stuff they could have done with their time and money.
