What in the HELL does that mean? I'm pretty tech savvy, Optimum, and that sounds like nonsense to me. I just want to pay my bill, please and thank you. Ugh.

Ugh, Cablevision is the worst! I'm so sorry you have to deal with them. I always got errors (not that one, but various others) when trying to pay online. I swear they do it on purpose.

Never had any trouble with Cablevision before. Never had anything BUT trouble with Verizon. Like a dope, I've tried their internet service at least three times only to wind up physically shaking with anger each time. This issue was easily fixed with a live online chat, so bonus points for Cablevision there. If I don't have to call for help, that's always a plus. I do hate their near-constant sales calls, though. I put myself on their do-not-call list, so hopefully they'll stop soon. They said it could take up to 30 days, and I honestly have no idea how long ago that was.

But you've had Verizon DSL, not FIOS, right? I've had both very good and very bad experiences with their DSL, depending on where I was living at the time. But both times I've had FIOS (which I have for the 2nd time right now), I've been very, very happy with it.

How are your internet speeds with Cablevision, out of curiosity? Are you getting the speed you're supposed to on your plan? BTW they used to call me all the damn time and I hated it. Eventually I told them that if I needed anything I'd call them, and if that I received even one unnecessary phone call from them in the meantime I would take my business elsewhere... which at the time was a bluff, because I couldn't have FIOS in that apartment. But it worked. So try that and they'll probably stop bugging you so much.
