Now, I just wanted to mention that Mick still has phantom pains in his gallbladder some days and his surgery was almost 6 months ago. I know that's a bummer, but they should decrease in time. Also, that protein powder was prescribed at the nursing home specifically to put weight on some of the old people. Sorry if that made you headdesk. When you feel better and no longer need that suppliment, the weight will come right off of you.

EDIT: http://www.fitday.com - Start honestly recording your consumption. When I do this, I lose weight. When I don't do this, I gain weight. I had two months of goodbye dinners and little exercise due to constant dissertation work, and put on about 15 pounds. I started recording my diet again about a month ago and have lost 20 (and am about to cross the 25BMI border again).
Trust me. That site works, and it's not just my opinion. Studies have shown that people who record their consumption and activity tend to lose weight at a pace almost double those dieting without recording.
