Not much classic about the new iPod Classic.

Okay, so could someone please explain to me what the hell Apple Inc. was thinking yesterday when they refreshed the iPod Classic? It's no secret that Apple's corporate mentality is that "thin is in," as evidenced by the anorexic MacBook Air and ad slogans proudly proclaiming "just -insert size here- inches thin," but this is getting to be ( Read more... )

You might wanna set aside some spare cash for an XBox 360, man. Now before you hit me with an anti-Microsoft rant, Dom and I discussed this and there's two good reasons for all of us getting one at some point.

1. Netflix is partnered up with them and they've got this new feature coming to let them watch movies on the 360, and said feature lets people watch whatever they DL at the same time, which means the three of us could maybe set up some kind of weekly movie night where we could all watch something together.

2. www.castlecrashers.com Dude...if you think TMNT is addictive, you seriously need to try this one.

D--

As odd as this may sound... I have no problem with the XBox360; in fact, many Mac owners have purchased this console because unlike most Microsoft products, it actually works. There are a couple of reasons that I don't own one of these yet though, but they include:

1. Cost; it's been fairly well-documented that the only XBox360's worth buying are the most expensive high-end model available. I believe this is the "Premium" version, but don't quote me on that. To make a long story short, only the really high-end ultra-expensive XBox360s have been put through a decent set of quality control standards and are capable of taking advantage of the systems full features. In other words, we're pretty much looking at a combined $500 dollar expense minimum, and that's without any fancy cables or additional controllers.

2. Heat, heat, and oh... HEAT! D, my brother has one of these things and it IT GETS UNGODLY HOT! I'm not talking a little warm, or "hot" like the Hard Drive--I'm talking about it raising the temperature of the room by ( ... )

Thanks for letting me know about the 360 stuff though man, definitely looks interesting to say the least, maybe I can somehow bribe my brother into letting me borrow his XBox or using it with his HDTV when he's not around. Just a thought. ^__-;

Don't let the graphics fool you, Alex. Castle Crashes is fluid and amazingly animated. The gameplay's very much like TMNT with a few extras thrown in.

As far as Netflix goes, the rates on their subscriptions are pretty reasonable(starting at $4.95 a month)and from what I understand, I think only one of us would have to have it for us to watch together.
