University

Well, I've had this thought in the back of my mind for a while now that I might one day return to University, probably just part time or external. I've always felt somehow that I wasn't living up to my potential with the fact that I've never completed anything at Uni. What gets me though is that I've also always felt let down by University ( Read more... )

It's never to late to go back to university. Mature age students are perennial.

A lot of it is circumstantial with your situation and motivation. Maybe things will change in a few years and it'll happen? Never give up a dream like that.

I don't know that it's a dream as such though... More an expectation... And as I get older, the requirement to have done Uni becomes less relevant... I just feel like I should have completed it, not like I want to go back if I get what I mean...

Everyone has things that they feel they should have done by a certain point in their lives.

For some people, it's travel.
For you, it seems to be uni.

It's never too late to do either, even if it stays on hold until after you retire from working.

Yeah, that's always an idea... It removes the need for it to be useful for something on the career front, and instead makes it more about personal development...

Only retirement is a long way off :)

I feel like I should say something inspiring, since I'm a mature age student, doing Psych. But honestly, being in Uni sucks! I hate the courses, hate the lecturers, can't wait to get out and work. In the end, it's a piece of paper that says you were at Uni for a couple of years. The real learning starts at the workplace.

And I am interested in Organisational/Industrial Psych too =)

Yea, I should do the same since I'd kinda decided the same after I finished my course last year. I thought I'd keep learning and stuff - ridiculous, I know - and I was going to enrol for history and french.--- Lookie that, I never did. Maybe when I'm 40 or so and bored outa my head. Lemme repeat the mantra: It's never too late to go back to uni.
