Slack bugger that I am, I haven't done tax for the last 3 years... I started work here, then I tried to do my first year of tax via the online eTax system. But because I didn't have a number from my previous year, I couldn't submit it online. So instead, I just sat on it. Heh, near in mind I was only at Uni for 18 months before getting my arse kicked out of there. So there wasn't that much to pay back in the end...

I was originally going to have to skimp on the amp a little, but with the extra income from the tax, I can spend some more on it. My DVD player has optical out, so I most certainly will be getting something that can support it. I figure I'll spend around $1200 or so on the amp, and $800 or so on the speakers, but depending on how it all goes, that will of course be open to change...

Sounds good. My amp was about $800, and $1500 speakers, with a bit of a discount to $2000; probably same as splitting the money the other way around. JB Hi Fi in the city is good for discounts, this I know.

All I can say about HECS is that I'm glad I did my uni course when I did. One more liberal government and it'll be ten grand a year for science.

What does your amp do for that? Would you of spent more on it given the chance?

I'm in the same boat as you with HECS. I got in at the right time and had a realistic HECS rate, hence the reason it's paid off...

No idea at the moment... I've been asking for opinions in various places, but I don't have any solid ideas yet... I'll probably not know until the day I buy it I'm guessing :)
