Ramblings of an inane mind...

I don't think it's just exhibitionism. With journals like these, people don't just read, they comment - so you get feedback - you comment back - they comment back again... you're not being exhibitionist, you're bonding. Or communicating, or connecting, or something - but you're not just shouting into a void.

I think of LJ as a sounding wall, in the light of feedback and stuff. None of my "RL" friends or my family know about this. It's good to get some independent, objective opinions. And it's a good place to write down what's in the head, especially when I'm in work and I can't pull out a paper diary. And it's good vocab and writing practice. And you find some really nice peeps sometimes, who provide insight, compassion, and laughter. So there! All very useful, this blogging! ;)

I quite often use my LJ as a dumping ground for whatever thoughts - or theories - I happen to be working on at the time. Sometimes those posts generates comments (which I dig muchly), but not always.

But more than anything, I enjoy it, which is enough to keep me posting.
