Ambien is not a fun sleep aid in any way. AmbienCR is a little better, since it's slow release, you don't get all your crazy at once :)
Doctors are loving AmbienCR right now, cause it's the newest thing, but if it doesn't work for you, ask for something else. Lunesta is very good.
if you already know this, forgive me, but here are some tips for being on Ambien/AmbienCR
no caffeine or alcohol - they exaggerate it's effects
if one doesn't put you to sleep, never think "i'll just take another one" - it's not the sort of drug where more works better/faster, but more does make you crazier. there have been people who sliced off their fingers while making a butter and cigarette sandwich after taking 2 ambien
I try to buy Caffine Free diet soda & water for the house... Do you know how long Caffine stays in the system?
I'd like to say I don't have a problem sleeping because I obviously do.
When I put on the CPAP my legs ache and I have to move them around. I feel uncomfortable and can't keep still or fall asleep. Once I take off the mask I'm out in second. but I wake up many times througout the night and I'm exhausted in the morning. I tried Tylenol PM, but it didn't work. I find that when I lay on my stomach it's easier for me to breath with the CPAP in full mode, but I can't fall asleep. What often happens is that I "forget" to breath out, I panic, and wake up with the CPAP on. I took the Ambien and went to sleep right away, but after that I can't recall what happened...
I appreciate the advice! I really hope I don't hurt anyone including myself.
You have to be careful with those new sleep aids. Ambien and the like. I've known people who have woken up, gotten in their cars and driven places, and have no recollection of it.
