The mind is indeed a bomb. Mine currently exploding so much that everyone's keeping away when I need them most. Teh sigh. Need to read lj and think about stuff that doesn't apply to my hormones. Like etymology of Latin :) How is the leg?

If it's a temporary fix, any reason an external one wont do?
I have an external, i'd just need to find the PSU for it

Driver problems due to being an install from new. wouldn't it?

It's USB, so XP should (*should*) autodetect it. Mosty BIOS's will also allow you to boot from a USB device.

Or I have a boot disc that will detect the USB device and allow you to boot from it.

All a bit irrelevent as the PSU isn't in any of the usual places.

However the usual places did turn up an internal DVD drive :)

Black, ROM only, tagged as Dell ... but I believe it works.
I will need this back at some point though, as I have a PC I want to sell, and I thought the lack of DVD drive could be an issue for buyers.
