Dear Gideon - Bugs...why did it have to be bugs?

Dear Gideon,

Well, this is just great.

I finally get a few hours where I've got nothing urgent to do and I can't get to sleep. So I'm back on the Ten and writing to you. Don't get me wrong, Gideon, you're a great guy but I need to stop being awake for a while. I just can't get my brain to shut off and sleeping alone isn't helping.

The docks are gone.

That's right, the docks that have been there since your grandfather was a boy have been eaten by damned bugs. Huge ones. I saw it happen from the roof of the old Mandrake warehouse by what used to be pier 12.

The Admiral led a counter-offensive (yes, against bugs) which bought us some time but we lost a few ships. I had a good talk with Henry last night. At least I think it was last night. Time's running together, lately. Anyway, I hope he takes my advice. When did I become a guy who gives advice?

The sun is coming up and I've got inspections to do. At least I can see The Apple from here.
