Favorite Lead Female Character:
Veronica Mars from Veronica Mars
I'm sure everyone is shocked by my picking Ms. Veronica Mars here. But yes, I still adore her. Even when the show itself got a little weak, I never stopped loving Veronica the character. One of the things I love about her is that she's this empowering female and she never actually uses physical force. In fact, if Veronica is in actual need of physical help and her dog or her tazer can't do the trick, her father, male friends or boyfriend end up helping her. And nothing about that takes away from her bravery. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with physical strong female characters, far from it. But Veronica is brilliant and brave in less commonly seen ways on television. I love that she plays up people's expectations of her as a cute girl to get a scoop. I love that in terms of love and to a lesser extent friendship she is so hardened sometimes that even she doesn't seem to realize how she feels. And I love, love, love that she is a female character who is funny without being the butt of the joke.
