I was tired, looking around, trying to remember something I forgot. Then...oops! That's right! I brought home a baby three days ago! Hmm..

Forgot about it for three days. I wonder how often you have to feed a baby....

I think it's completely possible to dream about something, like a baby, and actually be dreaming about a baby and not a strange, abstract metaphor for something else. Makes me think of this quote from Sandman, The Doll's House:

"Say, whoever you are, you know what Freud said about dreams about flying? He said it means you are really dreaming about having sex."

Reminds me of a dream a girl I knew in high school had about me. We were hanging out and I lit up a cigarette or a joint or something. She was thinking, wait, Rochelle doesn't smoke. And then I said, "I know I shouldn't, but the baby's tough, he can handle." And then she was thinking, "WTF? She's pregnant?"(while dreaming). Imagine my shock when she laid that one on me the next day in class. Dreams with babies in them are weird.

On the bright side, you said, Then...oops! That's right! I brought home a baby three days ago! It's never explicitely stated that the baby is yours, or that you gave birth at all. You just brought home a baby. So it could have been someone else's baby entirely that you starved for three days. Now, isn't that better?
