I figured I'd actually write something more personal than my usual blatherings about how much non-work related work I've gotten done. (BTW, I finally finished my revisions to that consultation article; it's in my coauthor's hands right now and I hope that we have those revisions submitted by the end of the month.)

Ya know what, pal? I think ya have a blessed life right now! I know you long ago confided in me that yer life growing up was rather rough at home, but WOWAWOOF I'm so impressed AND proud of what you've accomplished since leaving home for yer academic career AND now professional endeavors

Maybe you need to "out-Christian" your parents/relatives. Forgive them and let them know that you forgive them. Fight with love.
