Haha, I was going to mention Rorschach, but I thought it would be a little too referential. But I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought this incarnation of Freddy was scarier. If this is one is the start of a new franchise, I am curious to see where it goes as long as Haley stays on board and keeps that characterisation consistent.

I think his best moment (if I had to pick one) in the movie was when he had just killed that kid and the poor guy's hanging upside down and Freddy rumbles "You know, after death, the human brain stays alive for seven additional minutes... which means we have seven minutes left to play."

While I actually didn't like noes2010, i have to admit is not BAD , and it's actually a decent re-version.
I don't like the lack of expression of Haley due to his uber realistic make up ( that i do like ) that made me love the character portraited by Englund. Like you said, it looks more realistic than the usual.. but that's what kills it for me...
I do see how people actually get angry at the ones that say that this movie didn't suck, because OMG IS NOT ENGLUND HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT IS GOOD!? AND BLA BLA BLA ....
I do like the way the whole background was showed.. as in... is delicated. The molesting is there and they didn't have to show you anything. And Haley managed to show us a more serious, scary FK..

And they actually made an effort to show Freddy before the parents got together to burn him inside of that factory. The CGI was kinda lame, but still.

I think that was one of the reasons why he may have been selected to play Freddy because of his performance in Little Children, though in that movie, his character was so damn pathetic. There is no cure for the sickness that is paedophilia and his character was a poster boy for that.

But I remember reading an interview with the actor and he says people like that truly do make him angry, so glad to know his roles don't echo who HE is in reality. :p
