Well, then.
Another woman in her mid-twenties has developed pulmonary emboli as a result of the birth control pill YAZ. This make four cases I know of personally, and one of those ladies is dead. I've heard of many more anecdotally...
Spread the word - this is an unsafe medication with drastically under-reported risks. We deserve better!

Good luck with your birth control search, but make sure if you try *anything* hormonal to insist on a blood screening for thrombophilia. Also, I would avoid the lower dose pills, as they appear to have a greater incidence of serious/life-threatening side effects. It seems counterintuitive, but there you go...

Honestly, if I were you, I'd stick with condoms and then maybe go for something more permanent once there is a firm decision about children. I wouldn't wish this experience on my worst enemy, let alone a friend. But if you do go the pill route, avoid YAZ and get the genetic testing.
