Greetings, I just joined this community. I was born in CZ (Liberec, to be exact) but grew up in the US. Occassionally I blog about my experiences and memories of CZ. My favorite Czech movie is Sedmikrasky, which makes me want to gleefully smash porcelain.

I can speak it relatively well (enough to sometimes pass as a native when I'm there) but I have no formal education in Czech. I learned through my family who only speak Czech at home.
I'm wondering how to type Czech text here? I usually just omit the special characters.

Write without the special characters. :) Make "c" instad of "č" etc. :) We have it on our keyboard next to the numbers. :)

HI, welcome here! I have been to Liberec and it is a very nice town! Have you been there again after you moved to the US? I love Sedmikrasky as well - this one and many other film from the Czech New Wave are so excellent!

I try to visit Liberec every summer as my grandparents live there. Sometimes I go for christmas too, but due to work I have not been able to visit for the past 2 years. I can't wait to go back!
