Really pretty vidding always makes my day. Not the sort of fan videos that just mash clips together willy-nilly and throw Evanescence or something over top, but vids that really try to take the visuals and the sound scape and mesh them to produce an emotional effect. Timing is extremely crucial.
Amazing case in point of vidding done right is this piece by

The whole thing feels so fragile - in a good way! The wispy, blurred and faded appearance of each clip appears in perfect time with the gentle, sparse piano music accompanying the video. Jump cuts and frame blending are also used to great effect in keeping the timing synced with that piano. The reverb added to the dialogue sound clips layered over top combined with the momentary pauses and total fades to black give the video a real three dimensional space (probably their goal considering they've entitled it "Breathing Space" - well played indeed). And of course, the choice of clip/dialogue pair ups is brilliant, almost making the lines into internal monologues rather than shared moments. Altogether, watching this video I simultaneously felt the vulnerability of the characters and like I was standing in a large, enemy room looking at a small glass trinket sitting abandoned in the middle of the floor. And that's just friggin' cool. Kudos!
