Lies of Locke Lamora - and I'd like Joss Whedon to do it. I think he could do justice to the characterization and the quick, decisive action.

I've read a lot of difficult books and loved many books, but I'm not sure to what extent they've co-mingled. I generally don't love reading difficult books even if I perversely enjoy the sense of grim satisfaction at the end

I believe all the Shakespear I've seen is quite well-known.

I like French philosophers and Russian history

What is the biggest or most embarrassing gap in your reading?
I have lots of gaps, and for the most part I don't care, but as a sci-fi fan I think I get the most crap over not reading the Lord of the Rings series. I still have a gift-wrapped set that has sat un-opened on my shelf for a longer thyme than I'll admit. In a more 'literary' vein - I feel I really ought to read much more by Oscar Wilde.

It's a short story in one of Andre Norton's Cat Fancy collections - about a husband and wife (who has alzheimer's) growing old and the effect of a cat that they bring into their lives. It's heartbreaking and full of hope and it's always stuck with me. However I cannot remember the name or the author.
