First of all, that man is a coward. He made a voluntary commitment to the US, no matter how crazy, and he has to keep it as a matter of honor. Second of all, that happens in every war, I believe. No one likes to go out there and risk death and sometimes people don't realize how scary it is when they sign up. It's not really a good measure of how bad a war is.

Another reason war is bad, no one realizes how mentally fucked up they're going to be when they go home, no matter how badly they way want to go, it's scarring no matter what. and to have someone shoot you so you don't have to go back? wow..the meaures people will take to never go back...what happened to the good ole days when you played the gay card....

well no shit!
