I was thinking about 'I can see up your nose dear', which is somewhat disgusting, or at least midly icky. The men in our lives are such romantics, are they not?
No, leap day is not a disgusting word at all, it is perfectly neutral.

Since we do not celebrate the anniversary of our getting together as a couple anyway, once every fourth year would be a vast improvement. (Friday study week six is not an actual date.)
