i bought my house back in august 2007.
since then i have been fighting with DC Real Property / Tax Revenue offices to change the house's classification from a Vacant property, where it gets taxed almost 7 times the norm, to a Residential property.

Today, success!!! I will be credited back all the extra taxes that I have been paying. !!!

this album deserves a post. i'm not good at explaining music, so i won't try, except to say that i can't stop listening to it, and i love almost every song.

it is 80's today. i am leaving work at noon to drink with emerson.

life is good

edit: i impulse bought a chair yesterday. it was kind of pricey. bad dan.

i bought my mother a ipod for her birthday.

i'm in for an evening of laundry & packing. tomorrow i'm heading back to Kuala Lumpur for 2 weeks.
the project is coming to an end, and i'm going back to present my findings, and defend my methodology.

the weeks abroad will be good for me and aaron.

i just spent a good chunk of an hour looking at strangers' flikr photos.

it's not as easy finding and getting new music now that i've stopped seeing reid, and most importantly since oink died.

work load has been a bit overwhelming, and i started tearing up while on the phone with the europeans.

and so i am posting pics of happier times:
( aaron threw me a surprise b-day party, i was surprised. )

i got a card from reid with a mouse on it. it was wearing a helmet and starring at a mouse trap with cheese on it. inside, it said "older but wiser". it's kind of funny and kind of sad because it reminded me of the mouse that i found in his kitchen crushed to death in one of those traps.
what does it mean?

I finally caved and posted on ad on CL for a roommate. I enjoy living alone, but living paycheck to paycheck is not a good idea.
Maybe I'll get lucky and find someone awesome.
