Adah Price
25 : Deathscythe : Studded Knobkerrie
Adah has changed in many ways over the past ten years. An Adah without the trials of Africa, as well as an Adah with no guiding presence, is one who does whatever she can to deal with her emotions. That is to say, she locks them away so that they don't get in the way of her research or information gathering. She tries to be completely objective, but fails. Feelings are a painful reminder of what she used to have- she doesn't want them. She wants to begin life again purely as an observer.
She became the partner of Minato Arisato almost ten years previous to the current timeline. They were partners for five years- enough time for him to become a three-star meister and her to become a Deathscythe. The two shared a close bond- he helped her to walk correctly again, shedding her limp and Other Ada. He died five years prior to TYL- one day, she went to wake him and simply couldn't. She had known that it was coming, but nothing had had prepared her for a sudden absence in her life. In the same year, Adah lost her long-time mentor, John Watson. Refusing to let herself think about the pain of losing two very dear people in such a short time, Adah stole one of Watson's journals and chose to take her knowledge to the witches. She offered them her share of information in exchange for a safe place to continue research on every person brought into Death City by BREW.
Now, five years after that, she has been cured of her limp (it was, as Minato pointed out, all in her mind after all) and no longer writes to communicate, though she still prefers silence. She keeps most of her feelings hidden behind a steely wall of professionalism. She knows the whereabouts of most people who came to Death City via BREW, with the exception of the higher-ups of the witches and a few others.
Adah keeps meticulous tabs on her friends from before she defected, mainly Kida and Naruto. She doesn't want to risk her life to contact them, but misses them terribly (though she claims she doesn't). She has extensive dealings with the APOC and, to a lesser extent, the Varia. She enjoys her life (sans the hole where all her dead friends left their marks). But then again, her knowledge is more important than any of her friends. She thinks.

Dawn
Meister, Three Star : Modified Witch
Dawn and Adah went to the witches at around the same time, but for very different reasons. Now, Adah finds Dawn to be truly curious, trying to lose her memories of some unknown thing. Why would you want to do that?, she wonders idly when thinking of Dawn. But still, Adah feels for her, and likes to help her as much as she can, when she's not busy trying to ignore memories of her own.
Nataku
Kishin Egg
Adah can't stand Nataku; from the way he looks at her to the stilted silence in between them, she tries to avoid him as much as possible. After learning that Nataku had killed Watson, her distrust quickly turned to hatred.
Nataku has attacked her in the past, several times, but Vergil has managed to keep him from actually killing Adah. Sometimes, Adah wishes that she could take her revenge. But then again, that would be bad for the team. So she simply retains her malice, drawing horrible pictures of Nataku from afar.
Vergil
Partner : Minor Kishin
Someone who had once turned down her request to resonate in the past, Adah was surprised when he asked her again. They became partners not too long before the TYL begins, and she has to say that she doesn't mind it as much as she thought she would. She enjoys the thrill of learning new things during battle, and as a fair trade, she keeps Vergil calm with her weapon's skill.
She is not convinced that they are a perfect pair, certainly nowhere near the level that she and Minato were, but she enjoys the thrill of doing something dangerous. His connections to the APOC also help her with her research, too.
Minato Arisato
Partner : Meister, Three Star
Oh, what to say about Minato?
Adah isn't sure what she thinks about her long-time friend and partner. On one hand, she would like to claim that their relationship had been purely platonic, but that really isn't the case. She loved him and cared about him as much as she possibly could; even Rachel would have been surprised at how much she cared for someone outside of herself. With Minato, Adah felt respected and actually talked- near the end, she even talked quite a bit, which was a great development from five years before.
Minato helped her to realize that her limp was all in her mind, as was her ability to be Other Ada. She realized that he had begun to sleep more and more frequently, but put it down to the fact that they had been on some tough missions lately. One day, Adah woke up and tried to wake Minato up as well, but to no avail. His soul had simply diminished and disappeared, which was hard for her to handle. She had never seen anyone close to her die before this.
She misses him a lot, and thinks of him often, though she tries not to. People may notice that she frequently draws burgers in the margins of her notes, a constant reminder of how they met.
Jonathan "Scarecrow" Crane
Scientist : Fear Gas Creator
Adah admires this crazy scientist for his devotion to his work, and loves the idea of being able to manipulate people's fears and feelings with enough practice. She likes to experience this herself, as much as it hurts- she'll do anything for the name of science. When she has free time, she can be found creeping around in the corners of Crane's laboratory, watching.
Sakura Kinomoto
Meister : Modified Witch
Adah is always struck with memories of her younger sister when she talks to Sakura. Despite Adah's assertion that she doesn't care for friends any more, she tries to take care of Sakura the best she can, giving her books and stories. Though Sakura is no longer a child, and Adah is nothing like a mother, she still feels slightly responsible for her well-being.
Kida Masaomi
Meister, Three Star (Partner: Celty)
Kida is one of the few people that Adah actually loves and worries over, not that she would admit it if asked. The two became good friends before Spirit died, and bonded through missions for Shibusen and even, occasionally, a conversation. Kida always accepted Adah, even when she was Other- a fact that she has not forgotten. And in return, Adah put up with Kida's horrendously flirtatious ways, finding them endearing and even amusing at times. They even attempted to resonate once, though the two decided it would be best if they just stuck to their original partners.
Adah has not heard from Kida since she defected to join the witches. She believes that he has forgotten her, although she still asks her informants and people who give her information to tell her about the strange man with his vicious motorcycle. Adah wants to reestablish contact with her old friend, but has no idea how to do so. She might, if the time came, set out to find him herself.
Rokudo Mukuro
Meister, Three Star : Varia
Another friend from long ago, Adah is still as fascinated by Mukuro's curious behaviour as ever. She delights in the times when he comes to visit the Witches' warehouse, making sure to find him so that she can interrogate him about different things while he's there.
Adah trusts him for his contact with the Varia and offers him any information he desires- in exchange for some of his own, of course. Through Mukuro, Adah met Izaya, which has helped her research on the inhabitants of Shibusen and its outpost tremendously. She is thankful for this, and would someday like to repay the debt; all Mukuro need do is ask.
Izaya Orihara
Freelance Informant
A very curious man, indeed. Adah would do anything for his information, since it's always of the best quality and just what she needs to complete some missing piece of who is living where and with whom. Izaya fascinates her, though she simply laughs when he says that she's his favorite- to Adah, anyone that can say that and smile is priceless.
Giovanni Rammsteiner
Weapon(?) : Witches
She is curious about him and his ideas, though she has only talked to Giovanni on an occasional basis. She sees him frequently during mission debriefings and around the warehouse.
Naruto Uzumaki
Meister : Shibusen(?)
A friend from long ago, Adah learned to be a ninja under Naruto's guidance and cheerleading. She thinks that he's very noble, and makes sure to keep tabs on him when she looks into the affairs of Shibusen. She feels bad that she left him without saying anything, especially since they had grown closer than ever in five years. But she won't make contact with him unless something comes up and she has to- she doesn't want to endanger her life just to be sentimental.
John Watson
Weapon (Meister: Sherlock Holmes)
Her long-time mentor and good friend, Watson was always a source of inspiration and good conversation for Adah. He was the one to first suggest that she learn first aid and help in the clinic, and encouraged her to keep learning. She would often take notes for him and jot down his stories; she came to learn a lot about him through these writing sessions.
When Watson was killed by Nataku, Adah was distraught. She stole one of his journals when she left, to take with her as a reminder of his stories and intelligent banter.
Ling Yao
Modified Witch
Adah makes a constant study of the modified witches, finding them to be curious. Ling is one of her favorites, simply because she feels that he might understand her better than the rest. She likes to talk to him on occasion, when she can.
