hells satan's moped rally

so i bet you are wondering what i did last weekend. i'll tell you. i went down to richmond va for the hells satan's moped rally. heres a pict of matt s gassing up his truck for the trip down.

we got there late and my phone has no flash so there are no picts from the bike party at scuffle town. there were bands and drinking. i met up with some moped people and met some bike kids. ben passed out. the next day mark and i skipped out on a long ride to go to slaughterama. it's the event's day of the bike messenger rally scheduled at the same time as the moped rally. it was on an island and we had to walk our bikes over a long narrow bridge to get there, but it was totally worth it.

you can't see much, but they did tall bike jousting, 6 pack attack, where teams race to finish a 6 pack of beer while riding a bike without running into one another or putting a foot down. and whiplash where they basically tie a bunjie cord to two people and race past each other and who ever doesn't fall off their bike wins. i was too close for good pictures with a cell phone. but how about this.

moped kids park in a line, bike kids park in a pile. weird hu?
after a while we went back to a park and met up with the moped gang, that night we had a party at a warehouse where they let local graphite artists spray paint all over the walls. it was some kind of community center. here's ben, shawn and chad.

the evening started with ben wearing a lamp shade and went down hill from there. most of the pictures didn't turn out as well as this one. too dark, loud and drunk. i ended up locking my moped to one of the peddy cashers and loosing my key. she was pissed. i found out the next day in the light i lost it 5 inches away from the u lock by a fence. duh. the next day was chill. i don't remember what we did. probably a lot of hanging out. that night at the party pat made a shiv out of a chicken bone. arts and crafts, that's how you know you're in richmond.

here we are checking out some of the florida folks mopeds.

they were cool, kind of quiet. i guess one of them had a puch that goes 65. i would have liked to see it in action, but it was cold and rainy all weekend so it didn't happen.
then we loaded up for the long trip home.

on the way we took a side trip to falling water the frank lloyd wright house. here are some random picts i took there.

one of the stair cases goes right down into the river. that whole half of the house just hangs over running water. it's pretty cool, although i do expect one of these days it'll just fall in.

erin is standing by some rocks that are leaking. she was going to drink some, but decided not to when she saw the camera.

we ran into andy and peter on the tour, they were a little late because they stopped for waffles.

mark was noticing the wright touches like building around a tree to maintain harmony with nature.

the last scenic outlook of the trip.
