Nef is curled up on the couch petting Kio's cat who keeps hissing when the ghosts come near, and casually mentions that yes, the ghost DID look at Dan and has been watching him for a while now.

Dan put down the communicator and settled into a seat beside Neferti, curling an arm around the other's shoulders.

"Do you sense anything from them?"

Nef shifted slightly, curling against the warmth.

"Nothing special. I get the same reaction as the cat does, but I can't tame them. They don't respond to my touch."

"Were you able to manipulate spirits, communicate with them, in your previous life?" Daniel asked; he put a hand over to pat the kitten.

But he knew the animal would be on edge for a while, at least until this event resolved itself. The cat was looking a little less thin, though - and seemed to be eating better.
