As with Kabuto, D approves of Heather for taking good care of Piper and for bringing Piper for D to meet. Heather also has D's grudging respect for not being a total ignoramus about the natural world--she surprised him with her knowledge of endangered species. He thinks she's got the potential to be worth the space she takes up on the planet.
Kabuto: Any camper who has their pet checked out by D automatically gets a gold star except for Excel, of course. D approves of Kabuto bringing Sakura to him just for regular check-ups, because it means Kabuto is a good pet owner who deserves Sakura's love for him. As long as Kabuto takes good care of Sakura, D will think as well of him as he ever thinks of humans--and pretty much ignore him, most of the time.
Sakura: loving animals is sort of D's default setting, but he's particularly fond of Sakura, because she's such a sweetheart. He wants to keep an eye on her, because he worries she'll hurt herself or tire herself out trying to make those silly humans happy.
D either hasn't met, or hasn't talked enough with any of your characters except Ying to have an impression of them.
Strangely, he sort of likes Ying. She's thoughtful, and self-critical, and responded intelligently to the philosophical questions he threw out at the camp; he thinks she's better company than most humans. He likes her enough that he might not feed her to his pets just because they wanted a snack. On the other hand, if she annoys him, he'll annoy her right back without any qualms.
D hasn't met Starfire yet, thank god, which spares me the difficulty of figuring out exactly what he'd think of her.
D likes Fletcher, though. He's gentle and fairly harmless--shades of Chris! D also really, really appreciates Fletcher's interest in botany, and the fact that Fletcher tried to help a non-human creature--an annoying one, at that. If Fletcher needs help, D would probably help him, just for that.
