You can't imagine how much I loved this story :) It was great!! he liked Bonnie, but her home was a very look-but-don’t-touch kind of place. That should have extended to her husband, but House’s inner six-year-old tended to regard that with a “finder’s keepers!” response lol best line ever!!
Dammit, Wilson. Sneaking up on the cripple while he's at a piano is not sportsmanlike.
Best line. xD Seriously. I giggled.
I loved this. It captured their relationship...it captured the pain and uncertainty of House's infarction, and it captured the longing and the...well, everything. It was brilliant. And it flowed wonderfully. <333
Hah, funny you should mention that line. Actually, that was one of the lines that was giving me fits. It just wouldn't come out right! But it's good to know it's giggle-inducing, too.
Thank you so much for the lovely feedback! I honestly didn't know what I was getting in for when I started writing it for the porn battle, and it just kept growing, and I was sure it didn't make any coherent sense. ANYWAY, it's good to know that it works, and that people other than me like it!
This is /awesome/. There are so many great images - the U2 concert, the Clapton solo, Wilson singing kids to sleep, the tequila and limes ... aagh *incoherence* So good. Seriously. Love.
I really liked this - a great range of music (I'm Dylan fangirl #s 12 & 35), although I know quite a few people who'd take issue with the inclusion of U2 - and Life of Brian > Holy Grail any day of the week. Some great lines, too - I liked 'the possessiveness and jealousy and banter was a thin veneer between respectable sanity and “I want you, I’ve always wanted you, and fuck what anyone else thinks"' and 'House is finally, finally figuring out that it’s not the sex that counts toward how stupidly fast he keeps falling for James Wilson' especially, because I'm a hopeless romantic.
One little thing, though - before you get a mod on your back about this, you might want to tag your post.
I will honestly admit to hating Dylan until the age of 17, when my father sat me down and made me listen to Highway 61 Revisited on the original vinyl. I've been in love ever since. :P

I include U2 not just because I love them, but because Rattle and Hum was so blues-tinged. And really, any band that records with B.B. King has got to have some blues cred.
because I'm a hopeless romantic.
You do not even *know* how nuts that bit drove me (and Carla, for that matter). I'm a hopeless romantic, too, and I was struggling to keep the downbeat tone while still getting a slightly-happy ending. I'm glad you liked it, though.

That was one of the very few lines I've ever written that manages to make me crack up every time I read it. I'm glad someone else liked it too!
