FF: Figured You Out

Title: Figured You Out

Author: Angie

Summary: Two men, a woman and their relationships.

Disclaimers: Thankfully, CSI Crime Scene Investigation does not belong to me, they are the property of CBS, Alliance Atlantis, Jerry Bruckheimer and the wonderful actors who portray them. If I did own them, I'm sure the show would be sitting in an unfinished file somewhere on my computer, so it's best that I don't have ownership.

Author's Notes: This is another of my experimentations. It's a song fic. And purposefully Catherine's name is the only one that is mentioned of the three main characters, if I've done this right the reader should be able to figure out who the men are. Nervousness abounds as I post this, 'cause it is very different from anything I've ever done before. And to see how different... look at the rating. Many thanks to Jac for betaing this. The song used is "Figured You Out" by Nickelback.

Rating: Supervisor

Spoilers: Not much, little mentions from various episodes but nothing that will ruin an episode.

Distribution: The GraveshiftCSI Homepage, and where ever else I see fit.

I stepped into the alley, shutting the door behind me as I glanced both ways, making sure no one could see us. Reaching for her arm, I pulled her to me, my tongue darting into her mouth as I pushed her against the wall. My hands moved up the back of her shirt, the smile claiming my mouth when I felt nothing beneath the tank top. I pulled the top over her head, my mouth moving down to cover her left nipple, her moans encouraging me.

“We don’t have time for this.”

Catherine bent over to retrieve her shirt, but I didn’t give her a chance. I pulled her back to me, my hands making quick work on the zipper of her jeans before I pulled them down her legs.

“I like your pants around your feet.” I whispered, just before I pulled her back to me. I could feel her bare chest against mine and it was taking all of my control not to devour her right here in the alley. She was right, we didn’t really have time for this. But I can’t help myself. How many men can say they know a stripper, let alone sleep with one? I pushed her down, watching her drop to her knees in front of me.

“Here?”

“Just a quick one, Cath. You know how I get after seeing you dance. Why did you even bother with the clothes?”

“Did you expect me to come out here in my g-string?”

One look and she could read my answer. I sighed, leaning back against the wall as I felt her hand on my zipper, quickly tugging it down before she pulled me out of the opening. I moved my hands into her hair, brushing it back and looking down as her lips parted over me; watching as I disappeared inside her mouth. I’m not sure anything could have looked more erotic to me at that moment. I tightened my grasp, pulling her closer and forcing myself not to thrust my hips forward. The knowledge that Catherine needed to be back inside soon was not foreign, but when her tongue is gliding along my head, I just don’t care.

“Cath…”

She escaped my grasp, momentarily. Pulling back and glancing at the door, the red shame coating her cheeks as she caught the smirk on the bouncers face.

“Just give us a minute, will you buddy?” I pulled Catherine back to me, her pleading eyes glaring my direction.

“Sure. Mind if I watch?”

If looks could kill, I would definitely be dead. But I nod my assent as I once more push myself into Catherine’s mouth. With the added audience, it didn’t take myself long to get off. I groaned, falling back against the wall as I slipped from her mouth.

“Do you mind if I…?”

“Give us a minute will you?”

He shut the door and I turned my attention back to Catherine, watching as she pulled the shirt back over her head. Standing, she wiped the dirt off her knees and pulled her jeans back into place.

“Catherine.”

“Just leave me the hell alone! How could you do that to me?”

“It was hot.”

“It was humiliating. I have to work with that man.”

“At least now he has something good to remember.” I reached for her, grasping her hands as she struggled against me. “You know you liked it. The audience gets you off.”

“This is never happening again.”

I pressed my lips against hers, getting a slight taste of myself as I deepened the kiss. “It’s going to happen again, just get used to it Cath.” I let her out of my grasp, watching as she stormed up to the door, knocking slightly and slipping inside after the bouncer opened the door. I smiled his direction, waving as I strolled past.

I walked through the doors to my favorite coffee shop, my focus being pulled to the redhead in the corner booth. My forehead crinkled as I took in the slight shaking of her frame, my mouth pulling to a frown as I moved towards her.

“Cath? What’s wrong?”

She glanced up at me as I slid into the booth beside her. I reached for the napkin, unrolling the silverware and gently wiped the tears from her face.

“I don’t know.”

“You don’t know what’s wrong?”

“Am I unattractive?”

“How can you ask that?”

“I must be…”

“Why would you say that?”

“You’re avoiding my question. Maybe that’s why he found another woman.”

“I’m not… wait a minute… who found another woman?”

One look and I knew exactly who she meant. “Leave him, Cath. He’s not good enough for you. Doesn’t this prove it?”

“Yeah…”

“But?” I paused hoping to hear anything but the silence that greeted me. Sighing, I answered my own question. “But you love him.” I can’t hide the hurt in my voice. I love Catherine, and she loves another man. A man who doesn’t love her. Fate can be awfully cruel sometimes.

“Why?”

“I can’t answer that for you, Catherine. You need to find the answer within yourself. But know this. You are not unattractive. You are, without doubt, the most beautiful person I know. Inside and out. Don’t let anyone tell you differently.”

She didn’t reply, but her crying ceased and except for the occasional hiccup we sat in peace.

“I should leave him.”

I agreed, but in the back of my mind I knew that wasn’t going to happen soon. She always gave him another chance.

I pulled over on the side of the street. Getting out of the car, I hurried around the side of the car and opened the door for Catherine. She smiled up at me, shocked by my chivalrous behavior. I pulled her out of the car, my desire being more focused on getting us into the party than actually putting up any displays of chivalry. She tugged her skirt down as we walked to the door, my hand instantly going to the back of her skirt to push her hand out of the way.

“Would you let me fix this?”

“I like you just the way you are.”

“My ass is practically hanging out…”

“I know.”

“I can’t go in there….”

“Cath. You work with them. They’ve all seen you naked. It’s not like you are showing off anything more than you do on a nightly basis.” Her hand fell to her side and I moved mine down, smiling at the feel of her bare thigh. I ran my hand up and down her leg, my lips landing on the side of her neck as I pushed her back against the railing, stopping on the steps before we could reach the front door. My hands slipped under her skirt, dancing over the silken skin that spent more time on display than it did hidden from view.

“We can’t do this here. Someone might see us.”

“Does that bother you?”

Okay. That might have been the wrong question. If the fire burning in her eyes didn’t confirm that, the burning in my groin definitely did. “What the…”

“I told you I am not doing this outside with you again.”

“You kneed me!”

“And you deserved it. You ass.”

“Cath…” She didn’t answer me. I watched her open the door to the house, the pleasant greetings filling the air as she disappeared from my sight. Gingerly climbing the remaining stairs, I followed her through the door. I scanned the room for her, my eyes taking in the festivities until I came across the red hair I instantly knew was hers.

“Hey.”

Turning to the right, I was greeted by an old friend of mine. Well friend might not be the appropriate word. Business partner, that was probably more accurate. “Hey. I…” I pointed over to the corner Catherine was sulking in and shrugged my shoulder. “I need to go straighten something out. You going to be around long?”

“Sure. I’ll be around. I’m the party supply guy. Tell Catherine I said ‘Hi.’ And here’s a little something for you… might help get you out of the doghouse you’re probably going to be sleeping in for the next few nights.”

I felt the small package being placed in my pocket and smiled knowingly. With a little help, I was definitely going to get on Catherine’s good side tonight, maybe a couple of sides if this stuff still delivered the same staying power. I worked my way through the room, being sure to keep out of Catherine’s eyesight until it was too late. “Hi, beautiful.”

“What are you doing here? I thought I left you outside.”

“You did. Kind of rude for you to leave me outside of your friends house, don’t you think?”

“I was rude?”

“That’s alright babe. I forgive you.”

She raised her hand and I quickly caught it, the smile leaving my face for one brief moment as I pulled her in, my lips hovering near her ear.

“You don’t want to make a scene. Now do you?” I could feel her head shaking as I pulled her in even tighter, moving us both closer to the wall. “Good. Cause I’d hate to embarrass you in front of your friends. Speaking of friends, one of your favorite people is standing over in the corner.” I angled my head back, letting Catherine get a glimpse over my shoulder. I could feel her body stiffen once she caught sight of him.

“You didn’t?”

“I didn’t do a thing. He came to me first. I was just polite. He did give me a bit of a present though, but I’m reluctant to share with anyone besides you. Let’s go step into the bathroom for a moment.”

“We can’t go…”

“Sure we can. No one’s going to miss us for a few minutes. And you’ll have a lot more fun after you relax a little.” I didn’t give her a chance to argue, simply keeping a hold of her hand and pulling her along behind me as I navigated the crowd, testing doors until I found the restroom. My hands slid under her shirt as I pushed her back against the door, my lips finding the delicate skin under her ear.

“We can’t do this here.”

“Why not?”

“Just wait ‘til we get back home. Then you can…”

“Or I can do it now and later.” I continued nibbling at her neck, my hands kneading her breasts as I walked us across the room, quickly turning Catherine to face the mirror on the medicine cabinet. “Look at you. You can’t tell me you aren’t turned on by this. I know you too well. Wait until you try some of this…then we’ll really have some fun.” I pulled the bag out of my pocket and tossed it onto the counter.

“I thought we…”

“Needed some fun? Me too. And your friend just gave it to me, didn’t cost me a penny.” I pulled an old credit card from my wallet then carefully poured some of the powder onto the cabinet, both of our eyes transfixed on my actions. I cut the lines into the powder and pushed her head forward, watching her inhale the first line. “Another.”

“I don’t…”

“Another. You know one line isn’t enough.” She didn’t argue with me. I watched the second line disappear and then a third. I pulled her back as she headed for the fourth line, taking her place as I inhaled the next couple of lines.

“Let’s get out of here.”

I didn’t give her a chance to walk very far from me, two steps and I had her pushed into the door, pulling her skirt up to admire the view I was denied earlier. “I love looking at you.” She didn’t fight me, just grunted slightly as I slipped inside. I turned her head towards mine my tongue quickly imitating the movements of my hips. “You feel so good.” I glanced at her face, the pleasure clearly etched on her face as I continued my movements; my right hand sliding up to the tip of her nose, brushing off the powder and bringing it to her mouth. “Suck.” I whispered, seconds before her mouth closed over my fingertip.

And I love the places that we go
And I love the people that you know
And I love the way you can't say no

“What are you doing tonight?”

“Tonight?”

“Yes, tonight.”

“Same thing I do every night. Work.”

“But the schedule says you’re off.”

“I know… but I didn’t really have anything else to do, so I thought I’d go in anyway.”

“Well, now you have something to do.”

“What?”

“Take me out. I want to celebrate.”

“Celebrate what?”

“I left him.”

“For good?” I saw her eyebrows raise and knew she was tired of my questions, but I couldn’t help this one last question. I’ve heard the ‘I left him’ routine before and it always ends the same way. He comes crawling back on his hands and knees asking for forgiveness and Catherine gives in.

“For good. I’m not taking him back this time. I deserve better than him.”

“I’m glad you are finally seeing that.”

“You told me enough times.”

“I never said…” Her glare was enough to stop me in the middle of my sentence.

“You never said those exact words, but the intent was definitely there. It just took me a lot longer to figure it out.”

“I’m glad you did.”

“So am I. So… tonight?”

“What time do you want me to pick you up?”

“Now.”

“Catherine. I can’t just…”

“Open your door.”

I could feel the smirk on my face as I opened the front door, knowing perfectly well what I was going to see. I could feel my mouth drop open as soon as she came into sight. I thought I was prepared, but she left me completely speechless.

“Close your mouth.”

She slipped past me, her body rubbing against mine as she entered my townhouse.

“Are you alright?”

I nodded my head, swallowing a few times before attempting to answer. “I’m fine.”

“Good. I’d hate to put you out of commission before we even started our evening.”

I smiled, my eyes taking in the skin tight black dress. The electricity shooting up my arm as she took my hand and pulled me away from the door.

“If you don’t slip some shoes on we are never going to get out of here.”

“And that’s a problem?”

“Yes. I want to go out. And most places frown upon you entering their establishments without shoes on. So…”

I quickly grabbed a pair of shoes sliding them on and grabbing my wallet and keys. “Where do you want to go?”

“Anywhere is fine with me.”

I shook my head, taking her hand and leading her out the door towards my car.

“Or we can celebrate here.”

I stopped in my tracks, my mind playing her statement over in my head as I looked at her, trying to decide if she was serious. One look and I knew she was. I turned us around, heading back to my house. I barely stepped inside the door before I found my back against it, Catherine in my arms.

“I’ve wanted this for a long time.”

Her lips found mine and I was helpless in answering as our tongues dueled. I turned us around, lifting her slightly and pressing her back against the door as her legs wrapped around my waist. Using the door for leverage, I pulled back slightly, looking deep into her eyes trying to read her thoughts.

“I’m sure.”

Two words was all it took. I brought my mouth to her chest kissing every freckle I could find as we slid to the floor. We hit with a soft thud, but neither of us took any notice as our hands continued their journey across new flesh. I felt the cool air on my back as my hands made their way under the too short dress she was wearing. Her moans told me whatever I was doing was definitely right. I removed one hand from under her dress, pulling the top down to reveal her breasts before sliding my hand right back under her dress. Everything about this felt right.

“I need you.”

“You’ve got me.” I captured her nipple in my mouth, my teeth playing with her as I pushed her panties out of the way.

“Now.”

My head swirled as her fingers moved to the buttons on my pants, hurriedly loosening them and pushing them and my underwear down my legs. I managed to get my senses together enough to realize I was about to take Catherine right on the floor less then a foot from my front door, making me no better than her soon to be ex-husband. “Bedroom.”

“Later. I want you now.” She didn’t give me a chance to argue, her hands moved back to my waist and she grasped me in her hands.

“Catherine.” I barely got her name out before I slid into her, sheathed in her tightness. We both stilled for a minute, the sound of our panting filling the air. I’m not sure who moved first, but it didn’t take us long to fall into the easy rhythm of familiar lovers, even though this was our first time together. We quickened our rhythms, I could tell she was as close to the edge as I was and I definitely wanted to make this a night for her to remember.

“Harder.”

I quickly obliged, thrusting into her with a frenzy I didn’t know I had in me. I bent down to nip at her neck, sucking slightly at the skin just under her ear. She moaned and clasped down on me and I faltered in my pace. I could feel her nails digging into my back as I spilled over the edge, stopping my movement as I kissed my way up her neck our lips connecting in a kiss that was just as fevered as it was before.

“Now that was a way to celebrate.”

“You’re not disappointed?”

“Do I look disappointed?”

“Well, no. But you wanted to go out, and you got all dressed up. And I…” I glanced down, looking at her dress haphazardly pushed down to her waist and almost up to it from the other end. “I’m sorry about your dress.”

“Quite alright. One of the hazards of spontaneous love-making.”

“But…”

“It’ll come out. Trust me. We can just throw our clothes in the washer. I’m sure we can think of something to occupy our selves in the mean time.”

I took the piece of paper from her, the familiar scrawl of her handwriting coming to view.

“This is it, no more money.”

I pocketed the check before turning my attention to her fully. “Thanks.”

“So?”

“What?”

“How long are you planning on staying? I have to work tonight and I’d like to get a few hours of sleep before I need to leave.”

“You never needed the sleep before.” I let my eyes roam over her, taking in the low neckline of her tight fitted t-shirt. “Let’s just have a drink or two… for old times. I miss you.” That got her. I could see her resistance lowering as I moved to the kitchen, pulling out two glasses that were still in the cabinet next to the sink. “You still like screwdrivers?” She nodded and I moved to the refrigerator, pulling out the orange juice and setting it on the counter next to the glasses. My confidence increased as I easily found the vodka and poured the liquid into the glasses, making hers a little stronger than necessary.

“Thanks.” She said as I set the glass down in front of her.

I watched her for a minute, the slight grimace appearing on her face as I took my seat at the table. “How have things been?”

“What do you want?”

“Just to talk. I’ve missed you Cath.”

“You should of thought about that before you cheated on me.”

“And you didn’t?”

“I never…”

I raised my eyebrow, no words were needed for me to communicate my thoughts. “I saw him leaving.”

“After I kicked you out. We were done. Besides…”

“Let’s not argue, I didn’t come over for that.”

“No… you came over for money.”

I watched her take a large gulp of her drink, the grimace not as prominent as it was on her first sip. I moved my chair closer to her, my hand gliding up her arm.

“What are you doing?”

“Nothing. I told you I missed you.”

“You don’t miss me. You miss the sex.”

“It’s the same thing.” That was definitely the wrong thing to say. The anger instantly covered her face as she downed the rest of the drink, getting up and refilling her glass before moving out the patio doors. I kept watching her through the doors, pacing across the deck as she finished off her second screw driver. Emptying my own glass of straight vodka, I refilled it, this time adding a few splashes of orange juice and joined Catherine on the deck. “I’m sorry.”

“No you aren’t.”

She took the glass from my hand and finished half of it in seconds. I leaned against the railing, watching the alcohol start to affect her system as she continued her pacing, with noticeably more stumbling than earlier.

“Do you even realize, just how bad that was? I am more than just my body. I have a brain and I know how to use it. I’m not some bimbo that you can just use whenever you wish. I…”

I tuned her out as she started to slur her words. Her body had always been much more enticing to me than her mind. Who’s attracted to someone’s mind? As much as she denies it, I’m sure she misses the sex too. We were definitely good at the sex. I felt my eyes travel up her bare legs, her shorts clinging in all the right places. I could tell she isn’t wearing a bra and by the dazed look in her eyes, I knew it woouldn’t be long before I could see her in the flesh.

“Are you listening to me?”

Damn. I was so lost in my thoughts I lost track of her. I glanced down, my eyes taking in the view down the front of her t-shirt. I could definitely confirm that she was not wearing a bra now. “I heard you.”

“Then what did I say?”

“I… well…”

“I knew you weren’t paying attention.”

“How can I pay attention when you look like that?” I reached out and pulled her against me, turning us around so she was pressed against the railing. My lips pulled her into a hungry kiss, our tongues dueling as we fought for air. I reached under her shirt, my hands caressing the skin I had just ogled as I kissed my way down her neck.

“Get off me.”

“Don’t tell me you aren’t enjoying this… I can feel you responding.”

“Get off me!”

She yelled this time, using her hands to shove me away, but not before I enclosed my hands around her waist, sending us both backwards as we fell onto the deck. I rolled us, putting myself on top and using my body to anchor her in place. She was panting, her eyes starting to droop as I removed my hands from under her shirt, pulling it up and over her head in one swift motion.

“Don’t do this.”

I stopped listening, my hands having a mind of their own as they traced over the upper half of her body. Her fight was leaving and as much as I’d like to think it was because she wanted me I feared it was the vast amount of alcohol she had just consumed. I leaned down, tracing her lips with my tongue as I slid my hands up her arms. My hands circled her neck. As I pulled back, her head fell lifelessly to the side. I couldn’t do it. It would have been so easy to just have my way with her right there on the deck. No complaints. Just wham, bam, thank you ma’am. I couldn’t do it. I know she thinks all I want is her body, but here, like this… it wasn’t what I wanted. At least a little participation is nice. I leaned back, taking in her half naked body as I tried to decide what to do. Sighing, I pulled her up by the arms, pulling her over my shoulder and using the railing to stand before bringing her into the house and putting her on her bed. I locked the patio door and pulled a piece of paper from the corner table. Scrawling a couple of words, I taped the paper to the door and let myself out.

‘I didn’t.’

*~*~*~*~*

And I love the way you pass the check
And I love the good times that you wreck
And I love your lack of self respect
While you're passed out on the deck
I love my hands around your neck

*~*~*~*~*

I looked back and forth, my eyes darting into the woods as she undid the top button of her pants.

“Don’t be so nervous. We haven’t seen anyone for hours.”

“That doesn’t mean we’re alone.”

“I highly doubt people have been following us on the off chance that we decide to sneak off and have sex in some remote location.”

I was about to reply when she lowered the zipper on her pants. She wiggled slightly and I gulped as her pants gathered around her feet. I could no longer count the number of times we’ve done this on my hands, but that was still a sight I loved. Catherine, half naked with her pants around her feet. Actually it didn’t need to be her pants, I wasn’t at all picky on her clothing selection, or lack of clothing. As long as I was privileged to the sight, everything was fine by me. She stepped out of the pile of clothes, leaning against me until I was flush against the large rock we had stopped at.

“Cath…”

“Shh.” She kicked her pants to the side, her top quickly joining it.

I watched her drop in front of me, my mind knowing exactly what was going to happen next and my body instantly reacting to the images. Her hand moved to my pants, quickly unbuttoning them before moving to the zipper, carefully working it down and then pushing all of the clothing on my lower half down to my knees. I was helpless to do anything but watch as she placed delicate kisses everywhere except the one place I wanted her lips most. “Cath…” I didn’t even finish her name before her mouth moved over my head. Her tongue snaking out in quick motions before her hands wrapped around my shaft. I groaned as her lips encircled me, her tongue working wonders as she slid down. My hands moved to her hair, pushing it aside so I could watch, my mind pushing me along much faster than I wanted. “Cath… you have to stop.”

“Please, just a little longer.”

She went back to work, increasing her pressure and quickening the pace. I squeezed my eyes shut, trying to think of as many revolting things as possible to stop myself from ending the evening much sooner than either of us would like. Her movements kept all thoughts from my mind and I moved quickly, pulling myself from her grasp and lifting her up. I turned us around, lifting her onto the rock and pushing her legs apart, sinking into her in one swift motion. I bent slightly, turning her head up towards mine so I could kiss her lips, shutting out all thoughts and focusing on just feeling. Slowly, I began to pull out, working in steady movements to try and elongate our lovemaking as much as possible.

“Faster.”

“No. I want this to last.” I kept the pace up, my hands anchoring her hips in place so she couldn’t speed up the mind numbing pace I had set. She pulled her lips from mine, groaning as she leaned back, pushing her upper body into my viewpoint. I didn’t waste the opportunity, my lips quickly traveling down her neck, not stopping until I reached the pink tip of her breast. I inhaled sharply, pulling her nipple into my mouth as I nibbled lightly, her increased moans telling me she definitely enjoyed this move. The pain in my neck from the awkward position pushed me back up her chest, my lips once more resting on hers as I quickened the pace.

“Faster.”

This time I gave into her needs, quickening the pace as she tightened around me. We both groaned, grinning at each other as we let our primal needs completely take over all of our actions.

“I can’t get enough of you.”

I pulled back, looking down at her and tracing the contours of her face as I panted softly, my breathing matching hers. “That should be my line, not yours”

“What are you doing here?”

I followed her into the break room, watching as she shut the door behind us. “You told me we were going to meet tonight.”

“I also told you I was called in to work and we’d have to do this some other time.”

“You’re always using work as an excuse. I want to know why you are leaving.”

“I left you a long time ago. And you know perfectly well why I left.”

“That didn’t mean anything. You know…”

“What I know is that you cheated on me. I have work to do.”

I reached for Catherine’s hand as she passed, pulling her onto the couch. “I thought we were going to talk.”

“We have talked. Continuously. It’s over between us.”

“Just another shot, Cath. That’s all I’m asking.” I slid my hand up her arm, gently massaging her neck as I leaned in to her.

“Don’t.”

“You know you want it.” The sound of the slap hit my ears before I could feel the sting on my face.

“I’m saying no. Just leave me alone. I need to get back to work. There’s a big backlog and I’m the only one running evidence right now. They need me…”

“I need you.”

“No you don’t. You need something I’m not willing to give you anymore.”

I watched her leave the sofa and walk across the room, pausing in the doorway. “Cath.”

“I need to get back to work. You know your way out, right?”

I nodded, watching her wipe the back of her hand across her nose, the powder remnants from the latex gloves she wore for work lingering on the tip of her nose. She raised her hand and turned and walked back down the hallways of the crime lab.

“Cath…”

“No more words. I don’t want to talk anymore tonight.”

“But.”

“I know. I’m usually the one trying to get you to open up. But not tonight. Tonight, I just want to feel.”

I watched as she closed in on me, her eyes hovering over mine before our lips met. I closed my eyes, feeling her skin on mine. “I love you.”

“I love you too, Gil.”
