And to think there weren't enough reasons to go near Camden! Someone was comparing the safety of the Rutgers campus and for Newark, it was like "You're safe on campus, but once you go off, you're taking your life into your own hands." And for Camden: "You're not even safe on campus." It's funny but also sad because it's true. I know someone also told me that kids she grew up would wear baseball helmets when in cars riding through Camden because they thought it would help them against bullets from drive-by shootings. Really, though, who needs Disney World when there's Camden?
I do love that they thought they'd have the fire under control and didn't really bother to check for any criminal storage. Efficiency. I wonder if they know what that word means...
Camden is downright scary. I don't even like taking the train through the city. I've read articles about Camden being so dangerous in the mid-to late 1980's that the trains didn't even stop in Camden. They just went straight through to Philly.
And yeah, a baseball helmet? Those are totally bullet proof, right? Geez.

It is sort of weird that Camden was in fire, when last month Camden town in London was burning as well...
