I don't know if you saw this, but there was an interview with Oliver Sacks on the Daily Show and he was discussing music. (he was saying everyone ought to have a bit of musical training as it is good for the brain in a multitude of ways) they showed a bit where they had scans of his brain listening to specific composers. His brain responded strongly to Bach in part because he has loved Bach since he was a small child. I think there is kind of an instinctive response within every human to be drawn to some sort of music and have it provide an emotional experience that is on par with anything else. (he talked about that as well)

I mention this because Senor Onion who is only two and a half has had very definite responses to all kinds of music since he was in the womb. When he comes to some classical music he is obviously more fond of certain pieces than others.
In general he has about five or six favorite songs that range from folk to classical to modern pop. He is filled with such immense glee when we play these pieces for him. (we have to kind of set limits on how many effin' times a day we hear certain songs because we don't want to lose our marbles)
