So am I am sure some of you have heard, I'll be teaching a continuing education class at Central Piedmont Community College starting this fall involving comics.  I'll be teaching the first two classes going towards a Visual Narrative certificate.

THAT IS FREAKING EXCITING WOW. Man, I wish I could get a job like that. It sounds fantastic. Good luck with it! :O Sounds like so much fun... I wonder if I could check into seeing if the local community college would do something like that. HM.

I sort of lucked out in getting this job because my mom is friends with my boss. Of course it also helped that I was a TA with Brian Ralph, my portfolio has a variety of material, and I can talk about comics with confidence. There are somethings that I'm not quite as skilled to teach (inking being the biggest) but I know that by teaching I can get better.

If you're looking to teach, I highly recommend finding out how to do so at your community college, maybe even the local library, or local art museum. Comics is all about being proactive!

Thanks Annah. I'm really excited to teach this class. There's alot of ground to cover but I'm sure I'll do a really good job of covering the basics!

That's so great! Oh man, congrats are in order! My sister and I actually held a little kiddie workshop for comics in our local community college once and it wasn't easy but oh man, were all those smiles worth it!

Thanks Laur. It's going to be really great to teach on a college level. What I'm really hoping as a side effect is that it makes the nascent comics making community here in Charlotte bigger. We have a few artists here and most of us meet up once a week at a restaurant but man it would be great to have more!
