You're such a good son ~ that was the perfect way to spend Valentines.
Then I'll share this ~ I was sitting in the tire dept at Sams yesterday watching one man after another rush out w/armloads of flowers and I found myself feeling: embarrassed for them as well as all their significant others waiting expectantly for them. After a while I couldn't bear to watch them go buy anymore. I called Wil from the parking lot: "Hi, are you busy?" "Yeah, but what's up?" "Nothing, I just want you to know that I KNOW you love me and...well...I just don't want you jumping thru hoops today spending money we don't need to spend to prove it to me. You are hereby relieved of any pressure!" "Um, okay..." "I mean it. This is not a cruel test I promise." I think I'm getting cynical in my old age. I'm not down on love, just the ridiculous way it's twisted into a holiday.
And you're such a good wife - for letting your husband off the hook! ; )
In LA you don't have to jump through so many hoops. Holiday flowers are sold on almost every street corner or freeway exit, like the ubiquitous bags of oranges the rest of the year.
I remember when we were in San Diego ~ there was a stand right on the corner in front of a convenience store! I was in heaven. And I wanted to stop in front of every bouganvilla (sp?) and dive into them!

I'm glad you got a laugh out of it! You've always "got it" when it came to my sense of humor.
The cupid is adorable, no?
I'm sure she looks a lot like my muse at the moment.
I didn't know you were such a great cook! I'm sure you mom enjoyed the company as well.
Now. On to St. Patricks Day!
