lol TBH, back when I wrote fic with bbTARDIS, this wasn't really something I thought about or even considered very sad. Sorry TARDIS. You are still ultimately a vehicle.

Now I guess I think of the TARDIS as more ~alive~ but I never write bbTARDIS so ... EVERYONE WINS?

Tbh, while I don't see the Doctor and Rose as the type to have kids, I do think that they would take Tony under their wing as something of a son (much to Jackie's unending frustration). So I imagine Tony tagging along with the Doctor and Rose on their adventures and then possibly continuing to do so after the Doctor and Rose's deaths?`

I always find it really hard to imagine a human learning to pilot the TARDIS though, I guess because I always figured the Doctor didn't really -- like when he pilots it is some kind of ~*mystical*~ half-telepathic thing where he just does shit, not like driving a car or whatever.

BUT RIVER CAN FLY BECAUSE ?????????????? MAGIC, so who knows maybe Tony can too.

In Classic Who there were several times that companions flew the TARDIS. I remember one time it was without the Doctor even.
