My first thought is that your modem is dying, but if they are saying they think they fixed at the hub then there must be a reoccuring problem at the hub.
Next time you call, follow the process not for tech support, but for billing/disconnecting, as far as I know that is still local. Tell them that you are going to disconnect your service unless you can talk to somebody who can look at you call history and that can actually fix your problem as Bob in India cannot and apparently the techs that are supposed to come out to help can only fix the problem for 24 hours. They should be able to look at your call frequency and see that you have called plenty and be able to get you escallated.
When it comes to other options you are pretty much stuck with DSL, moving to cable, or going to Verizon FIOS (which I love).
My other thought would be that too much moisture has gotten into your phone box. You could also if Todd still has my former DSL modem and is not using it. Perhaps it would work better for you.
I duhno what the problem is. I might agree that it could be a dying modem, if it did this all the time. Since it is consistently doing it every 5 to 10 minutes on the weekends, during both normal day hours, and the midnight to 6am I am usually on, I don't think it is the modem's fault
