So, I bought a pack of Moleskine notebooks to carry around with me. I don't know how I feel about this. On the one hand, this is very handy, and has already been used to jot down dreams, turns of phrase, paper ideas, and story concepts. On the other hand, now I'm one of those douchebags who carries around a notebook and pen (I abhor pencils).
