Just... yeah.

This fic doesn't deserve a title. Just know that it's an alternate interpretation of "Miracles," since I just saw that episode last night and it gives me feelings. Rated PG-13 for angst. Barney/Ted friendship-ish.

Barney betrayed you; he hurt someone you love. He couldn’t stick around after that. )

I like the idea that Barney didn't wake up right away - I think the whole "Barney was hurt worse than Ted let on" trope is starting to get a bit played out, but I felt it worked here. And obviously Ted's all guilty and angsty in this situation, because he almost killed his boyfriend friend, so I wouldn't worry about it being emo.

I also really enjoyed the Marshall/Ted moment - I thought it was really nice and understated. I love their friendship, and I wish it was explored a bit more often in fic (says the girl who's written maybe five lines of Marshall dialogue in one and a half years).

Overall, I really enjoyed it. I think that, if you were uncomfortable writing it in the second-person, it wouldn't really lose much by being in third, but I also like the immediacy of second-person, so it's fine the way it is.

Sorry if this comment made no sense - I'm kinda tired. :P Anyway, good job! (You don't suck.)

I like the way you did this, especially how the beginning describes Ted's intention to make the story sound better than the reality.

I also like the scene with Marshall/Ted. Very sweet.

Well done, sweetie.

Oh honey! This is just simply amazing. It really really got to me. It felt real and horrible and TRUE.

You took something throw-away in the show and made it deeper and more serious. I love that.

Hey - why isn't this posted more widely?

I don't know that I want to post this more widely. It seems like the more good things people have to say about it, the more I hate it and just want to take the whole thing down. And I know that that's contrary and doesn't make any sense at all, but I don't care. I HATE this story. I can't even read it over again because it feels like such a hideous failure to me.

But I'm glad you like it.

Okay, so yes the tenses are a little wild, but that wouldn't be hard to fix. I love the tone of it though. I've read it three times and it still gives me chills.

It's great.

I enjoy your feelings :) It gave us this!

I really like the darker tone, how guilty Ted feels about it. And I love that Ted runs away to Stella, hangs out with her because he's scared of facing Barney. And that he realizes he still cares about Barney.

I really like it :)

I think that this is lovely. It just seems more real and awful, and it gives me feelings.
