Part 1 "Fool if you think it's over "

He is sitting in a coffeeshop sipping his coffee and wondering for the first time in months, why am I here?
Then he hears the song on the radio, and it grabs his attention. It's an old song,
one he perhaps has never heard yet for some reason feels so familiar.

He straighentens himself, letting the words sink in.

"Fool if you think it's over
'Cos you said goodbye
Fool if you think it's over
I'll tell you why"

And he realizes that he just doesn't want this--his life. Not this way.
Because he doesn't want it to be over.
They--he and his lover, his boyfriend, his soul mate--didn't come this far to let it end this way. He and Luke are not over.

"Who could love and do that to you"

And even if he has to be the one to make this step, he'll do it.
He will fight for what he thought he had lost.

"First wound of pride and how you cried and cried
But save your tears you've got years and years"

He'll make this step for his love for the man he left behind.
And instead of feeling like something's wrong, what is exactly how he's felt since the day he left Oakdale,
he finally can breath again.

He walks out of the coffeeshop, letting the final words of the song wash over him.

"I'll buy your first good wine
We'll have a real good time
Save your crying for the day
That may not come but anyone
Who had to pay would laugh at you and say

Fool if you think it's over
'Cos you said goodbye
Fool if you think it's over
I'll tell you why"

He walks to his appartment, not bothering to contact anybody.

He grabs a bag and stuffs it with some clothes, throws in his most precioust belongings, and turns around without even looking back.
His plans for the future he's considered for months are left behind in the apartment as he heads out the door.
He isn't going to be "the" fool to let it slip away from him.

At the airport he hears the final call for the flight.

"This is the last call for the 8:45 American Airline flight to Oakdale, now departing at Gate 5"

He sprints to the gate, pushing out old worries and fears and helpless hope, and he breathes in a new determination to get what he wants in life,
all he's really ever dreamed of. Luke.
