So I scheduled a minor outpatient procedure for the first Monday of my 2 week vacation so that it wouldn't interfere with any plans or mess up anything with work. Then on the Wednesday prior to the procedure an ultrasound showed that the laparoscopic procedure wouldn't be a viable option, but the incision wouldn't be too big... I had laproscopic and traveled after 2 weeks and went back to work after 3 and was tired. a lot.

Your going to need time for this one, unless you can guarantee no lifting at all for up to 8 weeks.

Your job is fairly physical, heaven forbid you have to restrain someone. You'll get tired faster because your body is busy healing. I recommend taking at least 3 and then taking stock.

Yes, you need the time. They told me 8 weeks - 12 until exercise, and I decided I was tougher than that. Turned I was more stupid than tough. It feels better, but it is still healing and weak. If you push too hard you can injure yourself.

Yes. You will probably start to feel better after a week or two. That is when it's most crucial that you *not* act on the urge to do anything normal. Trust me...I think November was abdominal surgery number 6 for me. Take it easy. Rest.
