I get a chuckle reading file sharing sites. Most people on there are hypocrits who think the movie/music industry is evil for trying to protect their shit. They say they want to see the industries die, but if they were to magically die then what would be left to DL? Freeware? When you look at the most DL'd files it is almost always lowest common ( Read more... )

eh. i've never downloaded movies. I think the only thing that came close was the sealab 2021 season. I'm an avid movie collector, so I dont even see the point in downloading movies if I'm gonna end up buying it anyways. That also goes for pirated movies. My brother in law always buys those from some guy... but they usually always look like shit and you end up paying about the amount of a regular DVD you buy at walmart. I just choose to wait till it comes out on DVD. I DO However like to download software. I dont see how they expect you to do to art school and work a shitty fast food job to pay for a program that costs $899 and every so often upgrades that are $179-$250. But I do know that if I ever own my own business I will buy all my software completely.. because its only fair and I'll be damned it I get caught. Oh My... I went a little overboard didn't I. Sorry.

The pirate movies at the theater look like crap, but the divx dvd rips of the internet are passable for watching on the computer or tv visa computer. You can even download the dvd files of retail dvds before they come out. I had a copy of Troy in october before the retail dvd came out in Jan. The only downside is they usually have to compress them and cut out the commentaires and extras, but most people dont even really care for those anyways.

Im even a cheap ass and rent or borrow movies then copy them. The quality is a bit off from the original copy due to compression, but unless you have state of the art sound and video equipment, you really can't tell the difference.
