My condolences for your loss

I've lost all four of my grandparents, three of them during my lifetime.
Death is a harsh experience to deal with. Somehow, I've been able to accept that death can occur at any moment. Depending on your religious beliefs you can think of where the person you lost is. And if the person was in pain or sick when they died (like most elderly persons) you can tell yourself that their pain is gone. and most importantly reflect on what that person meant to you, what you did with that person, why that person was special to you.
And concerning your father the best thing for him right now is to grieve, the best you can do for him is show him that you're there for him.

hey man thanks. not weird at all, understand what you're trying to do and it means a lot thank you. i had not actually thought of the "their pain is gone" thing which is true because my grandfather was in a lot of pain for the past few months with his cancer. thanks for the response.
