So Much For Rest and Relaxation

Well so much for all that rest and relaxation I got at Lazy Bear. Being on vacation last week really made me realize just how much I hate my job. The two times I had to go into Safeway up in Guerneville. I literally cringed. And this uncomfortable feeling came over me. The whole time I was off work. I really didn't miss that place at all. well because they're non union. They don't have to bring you in at top pay. Their Top pay is $18/hr which I could deal with. But the way they work it is. Each department has a Team Leader. And the Team Leader is the one who does the hiring for their department. Earl told me that most team leaders will bring in someone at bottom pay which is $8/hr. There's no way I can live on that. Or will take that much of a pay cut. That's an $11 an hour pay cut for me. It's up to a team leader weather or not they want to bring you in at top pay or not. So far I haven't hear from them. Probably because I was asking for top pay. I won't take less than that. I've got too much experience to start out at anything less than that

They can't legally make you work that much, can they? Or is that why everyone else quit?

yeah they can. As long as you have two days off in a work week yeah they can. well my two days off this week were on Sunday and Monday. My days off next week will be on Friday and Saturday. legally they can. And by union contract they can. As long as you have two days off in a work week. it's the way the two weeks run together. it makes it 10 days in a row.

On your days off, do not answer your phone if you don't call Caller ID. I briefly dated a guy in 2003 who worked for CALA and he said that they were calling him every day he had off to come in and work.
