Taking The Buyout

Well I decided to take the buyout that Safeway offered me. I still have three days to respond. So today I decided to take it. I'm so sick and tired of Safeway and the way they treat their employees. I'm just tired of working for big corporations in general. They offered me $17k and I decided to take it. Granted $17k won't last a long time. ( Read more... )

I too took a buyout from my retail hell at the Real Canadian Superstore/Loblaws/Westfair Foods, or as most of us in Saskatchewan called it "Stupidstore."

I loved being free of an evil corporation that treated its employees as liabilities--well, in fairness, they did have to pay us--and the customers were vicious.

But most of all, I loved having free reign to grow whatever facefur I so fit. How's the moustache n beard coming back?

well I don't get to grow the beard back yet until i'm actually gone. I can't wait LOL I so miss my beard.

well I need to take more chances rather than just settling. Especially for something that has me unhappy. Even if I have to take a little bit of a pay cut. I'll still be happier in the long run

it's just time to do it. Now that i'm in my 40's. I'm in a phase of life where it's about making myself happier and getting what I want out of life

LOL well what my plan is to do. Is they have until December 31st to let us go. So my plan is to work up until the end of the year. Unless I get another job in the meantime before then. Which I need to talk to my boss about. I haven't told him yet that i'm taking the buyout. This way I can bank a little more money in the meantime also until something else comes along. And keep myself a nice little buffer in the bank. As far as going on a cruise goes. I'm not doing any spending on that money until I get another job. And most of it will probably go toward getting myself out of debt. But maybe next summer we can do a cruise.

I meand the Gay Bear Cruise next OCt 2006 from LA to Puerto Vallarta, The RSVP Gay cruise. You would be a great cabin mate. It is only about $1200 for a window or $1500 for a week for a balcony. We could get an inside for about $1000. This includes all food for a week on a gay cruise. Seriously think about it. Everyone is going and I've never been on a gay cruise. The ship is a huge New Megaship.
