Sir, what about the prefects, Head Boy and Girl?
We are under obligation to help students that might cause a delay at out arrival at your class and we won't have any notes since not all the help to (younger) students results in us guiding them to a class room to receive a hall pass.

At this point, younger students really ought to know their way around Hogwarts enough to be able to get to their classes without help. However, you'll notice that your detention is for talking in my classroom after class had already started, not lateness for doing your job as a prefect. As for other cases, they are on a case by case basis, and should be discussed with me after class.

Yes, I am aware that my detention is for talking in class but I don't want to risk another detention for coming late.
At this point, I am sometimes not sure if I know my way around the school building, so I assume younger students know it even less.

If I were you, I wouldn't advise admitting to having such a poor sense of direction. A crueler person than me (and yes, they do exist) might take advantage of that.
