i never realized how attached i am to that house, and all the people that come with it. i'm so sad about hoc, but according to billy it will most likely open up again in summer (fall at the latest).
only the third floor was damaged by fire. the second floor ceiling had water damage and the floor was dirty (what's new) but it was ok. we went up there with flashlights and looked around, it was so weird.
jake, taylor and lee spent the night at my place, but will probably hang around royal until they find a house together (+ amelia). i expect that they will move back into hoc once it is its old self. last night, we had a spontaneous fuck-it-we're-homeless road trip to lake travis. it was a good night and i'm optimistic that things will be better soon.
p.s. i wrote you a letter yesterday before the fire, but i suppose a post script should be added before i send it off. it's strange but i had written something about a fire hazard there (the one that actually did end up causing the fire) and now i feel terrible.

reading your reply really makes me feel better. im glad the turnaround is going to be quick. i can imagine everyone out there at lake travis in the night. sounds like its becoming the new secret spot. im looking forward to your letter.
About 20 of us re-signed for the fall (it's possible that the house will be open at some point in the summer, but they aren't allowing people to sign right now).
I actually wasn't sure if I was going to re-sign for the fall, since I'm contemplating going to KV among other things. I figured that, if the house is full, then it would be easy to sublet if I want to, and, if the house isn't full, then it will really need people, and it would be good for me to be there.
There are a few things that I've been wanting to do for the house, so I'm glad that I signed for the fall and will probably be there to do them.
