Goths

The reason the article about supposedly "Gothic" kids bothered me, is because they were incorrectly stereotyped. They're not Gothic: they are neither 19th century writers nor members of a 5th century Germanic tribe. But recognizing that, however unfortunately and incorrectly, the meaning of words do change over time, let us consider the modern ( Read more... )

All I know is that the "goths" of our school are simply sad little sophmores who are so bored they feel they must act out. Therefore, they dress the same and like the same bad music and hang out in malls because they have no where else to go, forming a group of...sad, bored sophmores. I personally think it's just a way to get attention and to become part of a sterotype- nothing else. And they never stop coming to crew and it's really pissing me off because they are pathetic and get hours for doing nothing.

In other words, yes, I agree with the term "Mansonite". And I enjoyed reading your extensive research.

I love that Franz Ferdinand song!
