Saturday was national Free Chicken ‘n Biscuit Day (FCBD)!!! It’s my favorite day of the year. I look forward to it for months leading up to it! I mean how frickin cool is it that pretty much EVERY grocery store in the country gives out free food like that??? So many different types of chicken, all the various biscuits….. Yumm! oh and double crap! I forgot Saturday was free comic book day too, boo! Tho this year's offerings weren't as cool as previous years methinks. DC usually uses it for a zero issue to their next big thing, sounds like it was only a reprint of GL and preview of Flashpoint... Was the Marvel Spidey issue a reprint too, or new material?

The Spidey is all new stuff. We're gonna put s few comics aside for you, so when you stop in this weekend they'll be already for you.

Are you on the Whatever facepage friend list? Rich redid the sammich board this morning because this week is our 5th anniversary of opening the store. He wrote something about you can all suck it! He sent me a pic and I laughed, he's actually putting it out on the sidewalk and some people came in laughing about it. Anyway, he took a pic of it and it's our facebook image right now.

People can be such jerks. And these days people are so greedy and self-centered it's really disheartening. But it's your store, your rules. And you guys are completely oriented toward good service.

It's true, I think it was last year that I posted that we were going to start saving up dogshit the month leading up to FCBD because people will take ANYTHING as long as it's free! They'd even take multiple bags of dogshit

They do the 2 free comic books here in Indiana as well. It is a common thing these days, so whoever said all that business needs obviously to get their head examined.

Also she must be the only person in that city that doesn't have any other friends because seriously I just had Chaz, my partner, go with me and pick up 2 that I wanted as well. That way I got the four that I wanted the most. Jeeze, it isn't that hard for goodness sake. Bitch obviously needs to get some friends and learn to exchange the free fucking books.

One day I swear I am going to read either Rich on facebook or you here stating that you are both wanted fugitives from the law because you shot and killed one of the idiots that you have to deal with on a regular basis. When that day happens remember someone will hide you in Indiana ;-) then again a court of law will just say that you did it in self-defense so never mind.

Eric, the thing is, is that for our regulars and our savers, if they wanted 1 of every single book, we gave it to them. When real customers would come up to buy something (and over half of them that day, had NO clue what FCBD was) we would look at what they were buying and give them multiple free comic books that were in the same vein as what they were getting. The limit of 2 was mainly for those people that only visit us one day a year to take advantage of us to get free shit.

So, Indiana is a good hiding spot when one is on the lamb??

Of course Indiana is a good hiding spot when one is on the lamb. We are the very definition of cops that visit the donut shop while on the job. Also the cops are too busy worrying about rednecks and their meth labs to worry about two bears on the run. ;-)

I get your point about the free comic book day. I was just stating that it seems utterly ridiculous that this girl just didn't use what appears to be her little brain to get what she wanted otherwise. Heck go to all the stores and get your two books from all of them until you get what you want, but don't whine to the owner when nothing is actually free. I am glad you supported the people that support you instead of giving to people that want to use you. I am sick of the users and the haters.

Thanks for the congrats. :-) Yep I made it again and I also graduate on Thursday from Ivy Tech. 2 more years though for the Bachelors Degree, but that will be at Ball State University, which I start in the Fall. Moving on up...

That's the font that we use for anything pertaining to the shop. Since it's a comic book store, we figured that it was appropriate. I can't believe you would know something like the name of the font we use, that's pretty cool.

When I first joined, I knew very little about website HTML. LJ taught me all sorts of things, to the point that I design my own websites now.

That's one of the primary reasons I get all blue when my friends leave here for greener pastures on facebook or wherever.

LJ can be a magical place. But it's what you make it.
