(for hisoka) this place is the same as last night

It's another day at the Mansion, and Melou is bored.

It's making him cranky. He's sitting outside on a rock, venting his frustration by picking up large pebbles and throwing them at another rock a few feet away.

It's more interesting than doing nothing, at least.

Any distraction would be a welcome one.

Hisoka is taking a walk through the grounds, hoping to cast off his fatigue before starting the second half of his day. He hasn't been getting much sleep lately, and his face shows it. His eyes are shadowed and he is paler than usual.

He hears the chink and clunk of pebbles being tossed before he sees Melou. He walks around some garden trees and bushes and there is the bored young man.

"Hey, Melou," he greets him.

"Hisoka," Melou says, quickly dropping the pebble he was holding. He's a bit embarrassed to be seen throwing rocks at things. It feels childish.

He turns to look at his friend. "You look tired."

Hisoka sees his embarrassment, and casually stoops to pick up a stone. He throws it at the rock Melou was using for a target.

"Yeah. Too many interesting things to do, on top of the things that aren't a choice, like the hallway watch. No time to sleep." For Hisoka, this is admitting a lot. He doesn't like people to know just how difficult it can be to keep going when he overbooks himself, which he almost always does. It's just that it's particularly bad right now.

Melou snorts. "I don't know what you're talking about," he says. "There is nothing to do here."

He ends up feeling bored, most of the time.
