What is an early favorite memory of a conversation around the dinner table?

Early memories at our dinner table are tough. The best times when Mom laughed so hard, she cried. I am sorry to say I can't remember any of the conversations that prompted that end. I remember his reinactment of a toothpaste commercial where they had a piece of glass in front of the tooth protecting it with guardal. We laughed so hard we cried. He could be very entertaining at times, but then he also expected us to have something interesting to say. We often ended up getting the Dictionary or the Encyclopedia to find the answer to something. I think he taught us how to learn things for ourselves that way. I also think that the group dynamic leads to fun times. If you don't all sit down together at a meal you miss those opportunities.
