Okay so life is supposedly something about learning and adjusting? Yea, you learn from a mistake or a victory. You learn from it; you adjust your life. You try new things when the old no longer works. You make tiny adjustments here and there to tweak your life a little to the left or to the right. You have your reasons, your motivations. What is right? anonymous May 16 2006, 17:53:17 UTC
Here is some general advise for a general question. Not knowing any details, I'd say that the thing to do is to stick to what is right no matter what the consequence. Easily said, I know, but I was thinking about that and it occurred to me to ask the question, "What is right?" I would say that the only thing we KNOW is "right" is what is the truths found in scripture that are clearly understood. Any other thing that is objective, experiential, cultural, or emotional can't be relied upon as "right." So, if it's scriptural truth, then hold on to it at all costs. Otherwise, I would recommend seeking the counsel of those who you trust that have shown themselves to be wise, and asking them for advise.

Do you know the adjustments are right? Really, really know it? If so, then how you feel is a non-issue. But if the adjustments are in response to habit or simply what you've been told by others is right, you have reason to seek the Lord more deeply on them. The flesh is self-centered and can lead us astray. No question about that. But when Christ rearranged your heart to make it a fit home for His Spirit, He made it tender towards what He desires. Even when our flesh screams, we battle be because we want what we want but we also want what God wants! The trick is in discerning which is motivating that sense that something is wrong--flesh or Spirit. And prayer and scripture will lead you to the correct answer. Remember, God is not trying to trick you. He wants you to hear His voice and learn to obey Him so that you can be counted as trustworthy in His kingdom.

You can do ALL things through Christ who will fill you with His strength!
