I suppose livejournal could be considered a blog. I never really thought of it as such though. I've been using my livejournal to keep in touch with friends since before the term "blog" became ubiquitous. The friends features make it easy to keep in touch with people who I may have otherwise lost contact with years before

I've been using LJ since 2003. (Heh, those entries are saved and hidden on a disk. I do not want the world to know what 15 year old me was like...).

Only recently have I stared to think of it as a blogging service.

I'll always think of it as more of a social networking device. It seems the most successful "blogs" as it were are on domains rather than http://soandso.blogspot.whatever.
