Argh.

I. Hate. NPCs. I officially declare this one of those "Dammit, this is someone else's character! *panics* What was I thinking when I started writing this?" moments. It'll go away, of course. Has to. *grumbles*

Does anyone else get this sometimes?

frustration, tons of grumbling and muttering, writer's block

Oh, all the time! The only story I haven't got block on so far (fanfic wise) is Embarl's one, because... well, I'm just making up the main characters as I go :)

Yes, I imagine Embarl and the others being an easier pick, since there's not so much specific material on them. Still, I'd think you've had some doubts at first.

As for me, I'm struggling with an eventual next chapter to 'Revelations'. Jaheira and Khalid are good, Monty and Xzar are okay... but Kagain is just being unsympathetic.

Not yet used Kagain, though either Nuila or Embarl should stumble across him at least (as is my determination to feature all the NPcs in at least one of Hopelessly, Small World, or Discovery/Reclaiming -- Bree's shorts don't count for this)

Embarl used to be difficult -- when I was still wondering what they'd actually *do* after fleeing Athkatla, I was facing lots of empty voids. So I wrote. And wrote, and went with whatever came to mind. I didn't care too much about it making perfect sense the way Reclaiming's gone; rather, I wanted something light and fun. Now I have a rough idea of their immediate purposes, which makes it easier, though it means playing a bit of the game I simply have never done before to achieve it!

Well, I'll probably have grown used to Kagain by then, so if I can help... just ask. :)

I'm circling all of his selection and dialog lines right now, trying to figure out where to fit him in.
